Winter Tyres in the UAE

For daily driving in Dubai, the honest answer is no. Winter tyres use a soft compound that only works properly below about 7 degrees Celsius. On warm roads that compound wears quickly, braking distances grow and the steering feels vague, so a winter tyre is the wrong tool for the UAE climate.

They do matter in a few situations. Drivers who take their car on road trips to colder countries, owners exporting a vehicle to Europe or Central Asia, and anyone relocating to a place with real winters will need them. In several countries winter tyres are required by law during the cold months. Look for the three peak mountain snowflake symbol on the sidewall, which shows the tyre has passed a snow performance test.

Winter tyre price depends on the size and the brand, and the choice in the UAE is narrower than for summer tyres because local demand is low. If you do not see your size in the listing, message our team in Dubai on WhatsApp and we will check what can be supplied.

Every winter tyre price on GulfTyres includes fitting and wheel balancing at a partner centre, with the delivery charge shown before you pay. If you only want better grip in the rain or on mountain roads within the UAE, all season tyres are usually the better choice.
